Lennon welcomes resurfacing of Bannfoot Road

Sinn Fein Councillor, Fergal Lennon, has welcomed the resurfacing of the Bannfoot Road.

Speaking following the beginning of the repair work he said:

"The rural roads network must be upgraded right across the North to ensure the safety of all road users. Towards the end of last year, Sinn Féin Minister, Chris Hazzard announced a scheme to improve the rural roads network. We contacted the Minister to emphasise the importance of resurfacing roads in the Derrytrasna area. We were therefore delighted when the Bannfoot Road was listed as one of the areas to be resurfaced.

"The Bannfoot Road is a main route used by local residents to access their homes, the local GAA club, the local chapel and the local Primary School. I welcome the fact that work has finally begun to upgrade this road and will continue to lobby for safer rural roads in Derrytrasna and the wider council area."
